If you are fortunate enough to live in a property with a bathroom and ensuite, you may find this case study interesting.
Have you renovated your bathroom recently? Or maybe thinking of sprucing up the ensuite? Whichever part of the process, there’s that lovely feeling of excitement. We all love choosing new shiny things for a brand new shiny sanctuary. Then you employ Parkstone Yorkshire to install it all for you.
But there’s a problem. The pipework has defects that need rectifying. Ok, not such a big deal, right? Well, unfortunately, the bathroom and ensuite pipework connect, so the best option would be to do both at the same time. As in, renovating the bathroom AND ensuite!
So, this is what we did. In fact, by reconfiguring the pipework we could install the new ensuite shower flush to the floor. The old shower cubicle sat on legs because of the old pipework. Not only does it look neater, but we also remove any potential trip hazard. Here’s a run-through of both rooms starting with the bathroom.
Bathroom renovation
The soil pipe in this property runs internally, so we had to box it in to hide it from view. We made an access hatch in the boxing for the air admittance valve; if we ever need to service or repair the valve we can do it with ease.
We moved the sink next to the toilet and removed the old shower cubicle. The customer understood the benefits of more floor space in the bathroom, so the bath has a stunning shower and showerscreen. The bathroom now feels spacious and calm; the beautiful grey tiling, which bathroom suite, and chrome towel rail and fittings are a perfect match.
Ensuite renovation
As mentioned above, the pipework alterations remove the shower step. In addition, we swapped round of the sink and toilet, again to aid the waste pipework when draining. We continue the calm grey theme in the ensuite. A mirrored cupboard hangs above the sink unit, keeping the ensuite clean and tidy.
This project gave us great satisfaction, knowing that the customer made a sound investment by renovating the bathroom and ensuite at the same time.
