Every detail of this comprehensive bathroom renovation required careful planning and preparation. Using concealed sanitary fittings throughout the project, we had to get the hidden things right. All plumbing and drainage needed extra care; everything must align for this precision bathroom renovation. In fact, we had to create spaces just to hide stuff!

A bathroom renovation challenge

We always enjoy a renovation project which tests us, and this one certainly did. Although the new bathroom contains more facilities, the requirements of this project ensure you don’t feel claustrophobic. By using the corners of the room for the sink and shower, it maximised the space remaining for the luxury bath and toilet. The challenge is further increased with the use of concealed sanitary wear. Precision is aptly the name for this project; we had little room for error with all the pipework and components used for this bathroom.

Firstly, the bathroom itself is of a good size and layout. The original bathroom used a shower within a bath, with the sink and toilet filling the back corner. As a result, this wasted a lot of space which had the potential for a walk-in shower. By replacing the built-in bath with a free-standing one, the floor area used actually reduced because the new bath fitted snug into the corner of the room. The sink swapped corners as the new bath created more room, with sufficient space between the shower and the bath for the toilet.

Getting the shower to work

To conceal the pipework and shower the internal wall depth had to increase. In other words, we needed more wall! We used glass blocks as a feature to bring light into the bathroom, and help with the wall depth work. The floor to ceiling tiling provides a quality feel, and really enhances the luxury element of the concealed components. Gorgeous black and white tiles cover the electric underfloor heating, and bold bright paint finished the job.

To create simplicity can be far from simple, but when it is done right, the results are worth it. If you are in the Leeds area and would like a quote from us then please get in touch.
