Unvented hot water case study 2

We converted this hot water system to an high flow unvented hot water system as the old vented tank could not deliver any pressure to the existing showers. This customer also has plans to renovate the property and create an open plan kitchen. The old hot water tank was in a cupboard which, when renovation starts, will be removed.

We relocated the new cylinder into the loft, which is an ideal place for them to be. Firstly though we had to build a strong base for the cylinder to sit on. For this we used solid timbers spanning three joists and also bolted them to the wall using joist hangers. We then covered the timbers with marine ply creating a solid load bearing base.

As the cylinder is now in a loft space we fully lagged all pipework to comply with energy efficiency rules.

We now have a very happy customer who now has perfectly working showers.
